I just brought a young stray cat home from work, she was outside.
I saw some black flecks fall onto my t-shirt, and saw an adult cat flea this morning. The cat’s been in the home 2 days. I intend to clean and vaccumn the rugs and scrub the floors and treat the cat as well, is there anything else I should do?
I went to the pet store & picked up a flea mist for cats, cat bed, carpet, and furniture.
I will be washing the laundry at 6am tomorrow morning. the general scrubbing and vaccing I will do tonight. She has a vet appointment for Sat, 8am.

Now, I have decided he’s banned to the upstairs spare kitchen we have with no rug. Is there anything to make him more comfrotable there? there are 2 big windows he can look out. I know he will be lonely because we have 3 other cats, but we just cannot have our rugs ruined and have him do this.
oh definitely neutered, has been for 1-1/2 yrs. This all coincided with going outside.
this is really sad for me, I dont want him to live in another room but I have no choice.

He is nuetered, we have more than one litter box, my grandma was never affectionate with him, and he is more affectionate with me than he ever was with anyone. I give him lots of love, he follows me like a dog and sleeps curled up next to me. Puting him outside is not an option, we live in the mountains where there are wild animals that could eat him.

We do have two litter boxes, and we keep one with a lid on and one with a lid off. He is very big, we thought the problem might be that he couldnt fit comfortably in the lidded boxes, but he still doesnt use either.
My grandma, to be honest, never did much more than feed him, and I was not suprised when she asked us to watch him for a few weeks and never came back to get him. In any case, he was never affectionate with her and he is with me. He follows me around like a dog, waits for me at the door when I come home from work and sleeps curled up next to me. I give him lots of love. He is my baby.
I thought since he used to be an outdoor cat, it might help a little to bring the outdoors inside for him. Perhaps putting some cat grass or something around the box might help make it feel like outside?
